Regulatory Technology Round-Up

In this month's newsletter, we wrap up for the year and wish you good tidings and a happy new year!

November-Novation

We Kicked Off the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) Week with RegPac's Regnovation.Robo!

The theme was centered on the applications of Artificial Intelligence, within the financial industry, management and for regulatory technology solutions.

Our esteemed guest speaker, Chionh Chye Kit, Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Cynopsis Solutions, first kicked it off with sharing his entrepreneurial journey as a RegTech specialist in the anti-money laundering space. He also fielded questions on his thoughts on the direction of the RegTech & the use of technologies such as AI.

Afterwhich, we broke off into a panel featuring from left to right, Anusha Sharma, Bluemix Development Services at IBM, Chris Doerfler, Co-founder of ramps.io, Diana Parades, CEO & Co-Founder of Suade, moderated by Antonio DeLorenzo, CEO of Funder Exchange.

We were joined by a cozy crowd of enthusiastic FinTech/ RegTech professionals, some of which had specially flown in for SFF. This includes startups from the New Zealand FinTech Association who delivered highly spirited pitches during the event. We had a highly engaged crowd, (which our panel can attest to the questions posed!) which aired their perspectives on the current environment and shared based on their experiences the attitudes of financial institutions towards the adoption of RegTech solutions.

Dutch Embassy Roundtable

Amidst the whirlwind of the SFF, our Founder & CEO Mona Zoet was honoured to have been invited to a private closed door Women in FinTech event co-hosted by the Dutch Embassy, the Dutch Ambassador Margriet Vonno, and United Overseas Bank (UOB) with the guest of honour, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. They debated on topics surrounding the state of FinTech. It was an honour and priviledge for us to have been part of the exclusive closed door event.

From the left, Janet Young, Managing Director & Head of Group Channels and Digitalization at UOB; Queen Máxima of the Netherlands; Margriet Vonno, the Dutch ambassador to Singapore and Elena Ionenko from Turnkey Lender.
